TitusTitus Head

Titus is a handsome happy-go-lucky 2-3 year old male. Weighing in at 90 lbs., Titus is a big black and tan boy with a nice thick coat. Titus was dropped off at a local area shelter when his family could no longer care for him. He had been an outdoor dog that had lived with other dogs, cats, and even young children. We don't know how much access he had to the cats or kids since he was outdoors.

Titus did not come with any manners, but is learning. He is enjoying the indoor life, and seems to be having a grand time reliving his puppyhood. He approaches everything with his mouth (and a smile). He likes to be mouthy with people, trying to grab a sleeve or pant leg for attention, he likes to grab the leash with his mouth, and when playing with the other dogs, he likes to grab their leg or tail with his mouth as well, which has led to a couple of corrections that he accepted well. Because he is currently mouthy, a home without smaller children will be needed. You can tell Titus just wants to play and have a good time, he has no ill intent, but he is slowly learning that mouthiness is an unwanted behavior. Titus walks nicely on leash and has learned sit. He will down fairly easily, just not on command yet. Titus has not had an accident in the house, but it is unknown if he is fully housebroken as he has been carefully supervised when off the leash.

Titus enjoys the other large dogs in his foster home. He constantly wants to play with one of them. The younger boys take turns playing with him, as they are done playing long before Titus. Titus plays rough, so would need to be in a home with a playmate that likes to play hard, or be an only dog, I think Titus would get frustrated in a home where another dog did not want to play with him at all. It is unknown how Titus is with small dogs or cats. When out on walks, he shows little interest in the livestock or wildlife he sees.

Titus rides nicely in the car, he sleeps quietly in his crate at night. He likes to splash around in the stream near his house. Titus takes a minute to warm up to new people, but once he does he has made a friend for life. Titus requires a home that will continue his socialization and training. He would love a family that will include him in daily activities, and take him on outings. With time and training, Titus will make an awesome companion.
