MackGSD Head

Mack is a handsome, large, black 18-24 month old long coat male. He wandered onto a ranch in the Modesto area. After weeks of trying to find his owners, they called rescue. Mack is very sweet, good with people, loves to cuddle and get attention. If he is ever scolded or thinks he did something wrong, he will drop to the ground and give you his belly to apologize.

Mack is housebroken, and is easy to have in the house. His leash behavior is decent, but could use a little work. Mack seems to know some basic commands, he will sit, lay down, go to his bed. He is very gentle when eating treats out of your hand. He sleeps quietly in a crate at night.

Mack has gotten along with the other large male and female dogs in his foster home. He is energetic, and likes to play, play, play. He will play rough with other dogs, can be a little pushy with other males, but has always done well with females. He also is good about settling down on a bed in the house.

Mack has been able to scale the horse fencing at his foster home, but only when his people leave the house. He never seems to go far. He now does well and is quiet in an outdoor covered kennel during the day. Care would need to be taken to make sure Mack is in a secure area until you know if your fence can hold him.

Mack is good in the car, and rides quietly, preferring to lay down in the back seat. Mack is a young German Shepherd so he can get a little mouthy when playing. Mack would be excellent in a family either as an only dog or perhaps with a female dog.
