Little JoeLittle Joe Head

Little Joe is a 7-8 month old adorable black and tan male that weighs about 56lbs. He was an unclaimed stray from a local shelter, so his background is unknown.

This is an affectionate boy that loves to be pet and give kisses. If allowed to, he would follow his foster mom everywhere around the house. He will make a nice companion dog.

Little Joe would likely do best with a mentor dog in his new home to show him the ropes. He still needs to learn manners when interacting with other dogs. He is being fostered with a young female German Shepherd and a male adolescent Shepherd/husky and has done well. He seems to have moderate energy and will engage in play with dogs that are not too intense. He still inappropriately chews and should not be left free unattended. He likes to chew on Nylabones and cow horns. He also will share toys with the other dogs in his foster home.

He sleeps through the night in a crate and is on his way to being potty trained. He does still whine and bark while in the crate, but settles after some time. His first introduction to cats and little dogs went without incident, so he might be cat and little dog workable.

This boy will need continued socialization and obedience training. He corrects easily, responds well to praise and is learning to take treats. He walks nicely on leash and has behaved appropriately in busy environments (Home Depot, Fort Rock Brewery, a shipping store, Pet Food Express).

This is a Level 2 Dog
