KeikoKeiko Head

Keiko (which is a name that means Blessed child in Japanese) is a fun loving female about 1.5 years old. She is being treated for a skin infection, but will be gorgeous once healed. She is slightly over weight, but loves to go for walks and is doing well on the leash, so losing those few extra pounds shouldn't be a problem.

Keiko seems interested in playing fetch, but she is staying in a house with another German Shepherd who gets the ball before she can. The two dogs have been getting along nicely. Keiko is also living with 3 cats and for the most part leaves them alone, however, there are times when she wants to play and will chase the cats. It is unknown how Keiko does with other small animals. Keiko is also in a staying in a home with three children. Although she is doing well with the kids, she does jump, gets mouthy, and will get on top of the kids if they are lying on the floor, therefore, we would not recommend putting her in a home with small children. She is also a little hand shy, and will sometimes get a little mouthy when you go to grab her collar.

Keiko is housebroken but is still working on the basic commands such as off, down, leave it, and sit. She also needs to learn to wait at the door, as she has bolted a few times when she's had the opportunity to do so.

She is also somewhat insecure, but loves attention. Keiko would do very well in a home with strong leadership, consistency with commands, and lots of activity such as running and walking.
