Karma

Karma is an exceptionally sweet 2 - 3 year old female weighing 68 lbs. (and could use to put on a few more pounds). She was owner surrendered to a Sacramento shelter, so nothing is known of her background. She has been friendly toward the dogs she has met so far and likes going for walks. A very affectionate girl, she will give little kisses, likes her pets, and will quickly roll over for a nice belly rub. She loves being with her people and is a little shadow in the house.

She is a fast learner and wants to please. During her walks, she is learning to heel quickly, mostly requiring only occasional corrections via voice or a gentle reminder tug on leash--making her a joy to walk. She is learning not to jump up and because of this, she probably would not be good with small children. So far, she appears to be house-broken, successfully going outside (is taken out on a regular schedule).

Karma appears to be a very calm girl with lower energy. She needs continued socialization as she is somewhat shy (but has tentatively approached strangers) and came to her foster home afraid of the car. However, she progresses quickly, and just needs continued practice. She is now getting in the car on her own and sits up to look out the window more often (instead of staying frozen in a laying down position). She does not know what to do with a ball or toys, but gets excited over her bully sticks and treats. For treats, she will enthusiastically sit, lay down and is starting to learn to stay. She sleeps quietly throughout the night.

Unknown how she is with cats and small dogs/critters.
