JethroJehtro Head

Jethro is a handsome, large (approximately 90 pounds), mostly black 2 year old male. He was an unclaimed stray from a Placer shelter, so nothing is known of his background. Jethro is good with adults, loves getting attention and being around his people.

Jethro is housebroken. His leash behavior is excellent. He naturally Heels on leash, even around other people and dogs, with only gentle tugs required to keep him in line. He will sit and lay down, and is very gentle when eating treats out of your hand. He sleeps quietly in a crate at night.

Jethro hasn't shown any prey drive towards other dogs or the resident cat in his foster home. He will play rough with other dogs, can be a little pushy with other males, but has always done well with females, and the female always wins even if she's half his weight.

Jethro loves car rides, and rides quietly, preferring to lay down in the back seat. When out and about at pet-friendly stores including Home Depot, Pet Smart and Lowes, his behavior is excellent. He will wait patiently for you while you're in a store shopping. He loves playing fetch with kong balls, tug-of-war with a large sisal rope, chew toys and rawhide bones. Jethro is a young German Shepherd so he can get a little mouthy when playing and likes rough-housing. He also enjoys curling up under a desk at your feet and taking a nap. He can also be found napping at the front door, making sure no one leaves without him.

Jethro would be excellent in a family either as an only dog or perhaps with a female dog.
