ChaplinChaplin Head

SPECIAL NEEDS

Chaplin is a 2-3 year old male who was found by a good Samaritan wandering the streets. After weeks of trying to find his owners, they asked us to help.

Chaplin is a handsome classic black and tan shepherd, very compact weighing in at about 65-70lbs. It appears that prior to the good Samaritan finding him, Chaplin suffered trauma to the head strong enough to cause both ear drums to burst, and break a couple of his teeth. This currently causes him to tilt his head to the left. Occasionally Chaplin goes in left hand circles and is sometimes a little unbalanced, stumbling easily. According to the vet, the ear drums will heal, so it is not known at this point in time how much balance he will regain.

With all of that said, Chaplin is otherwise a fairly normal dog. He is housebroken, will sleep quietly in a crate at night, and loves to take walks. He is a sweet boy who has loved everyone he has met so far. He does enjoy playing with other dogs, he just had a very odd style of play that turns some dogs off. Since he loses his balance easily, he ends up on the ground a lot when playing, but still doesn't want to stop, so play needs to be with a very tolerant dog that won't hurt Chaplin.

The ideal home for Chaplin would be one that is going to be patient with some of his odd behaviors, but still treat him like a dog and continue to socialize him, and continue to work with him on his obedience.
