Bruno

Bruno is a 4 year old black and tan male Shepherd. He was found as a stray in Sacramento County, so nothing is known about his past.

He was originally underweight and not displaying much energy. As his weight catches up, he is becoming more energetic. As with many of our dogs, he will benefit from a structured exercise routine. He is named after the pop star, Bruno Mars, so we are hopeful he'll show some of Bruno's soulful, energetic style.

Bruno is keen and curious and responding well to human partnership. He walks well on a leash, and is becoming eager for his car rides. He is gentle-natured and showing good house manners. He is slowly learning the benefits of his crate at night and appears to be fully housebroken with the use of a dog door. So far, Bruno is showing no interest in toys, but sometimes that changes with time. A home with a young, energetic male dog was not a good fit for Bruno, so we believe he'd do better as an only dog or with a mellow dog companion. He is not fond of being left alone, so if an only dog, preferably in a home where someone is home most of the time.

Continued socialization and training will be needed for this boy. He has not experienced introductions to children, so we would be hesitant to rate him child friendly.
