ArgoArgo Head

Argo is a gorgeous red sable male, about three years old. He has intense gold eyes, that will just melt your heart when he looks at you. He was an unclaimed stray out of the Sacramento area so nothing is known about his background. He could stand to put on a few pounds as he is a 70lb. dog with an 80 lb. frame. For the most part he has a very calm and quiet disposition. He is settling into his foster home nicely, but was probably an outdoor only dog in his previous life as much of the world and the house appear to be new to him.

Argo gets along with the other large male and female dogs in his foster home. He is learning how to play with the other dogs in an appropriate manner. Argo doesn't have any formal training, but he is fairly easy to walk on leash. He is learning sit and down, and to settle inside the house. This is a boy that loves to be with his human, he loves to follow them around the house. He likes to snuggle and bury his head in your lap. He is a dog that will take some patience, as many things are new to him; the stairs, the indoor water bowl that gurgles has he drinks from it, the toilet, the hairdryer, the washing machine, and of course the vacuum. He is not even real sure what toys and bones are for. He is almost housebroken. Outdoors he just takes in his surroundings. He is curious about the livestock and wildlife in the area, but not over the top crazy about them. He gets excited when we pass other dogs on a walk, but corrects easily. He is starting to wade in the water near his foster home. He wasn't very excited about it at first, but the heat won out. Once in, he wasn't sure what to do, but seemed to enjoy it. Argo isn't is not quite sure what to make of the pet store or home depot at this point. This boy needs a home with someone who wants to show him the world and really continue his training and socialization.

Argo rides fairly nicely in the car, sometimes he tries to ride shotgun. He is not excited about going into his crate at night, but will do so and sleep quietly through the night. Argo would probably be ok as an only dog, or in a home with another large dog for him to play with. It is unknown how he is with small dogs or cats at this point in time. He needs a home that will include him in daily activities, and broaden his horizons so he can become an even more amazing dog than he already is.
