AlexiaAlexia Head

Alexia is a 4-5 year old female whose last owner surrendered her to a local Sacramento shelter.

Previously she was kept as an outdoor/garage only pet where she lived with another dog and cats. She has beautiful markings on a solid frame and a very gentle disposition. Currently she is in a foster home with other dogs and cats and gets along well with her canine and feline companions. She loves to play with a tennis ball or better yet a football. She will drop the ball at your feet repeatedly until you play with her. If you run the hose, she will bite at the water in play. It appears she was not taken on walks often in the past. She originally got very nervous by passing traffic while walking down a street. Walking with other confident dogs is helping her ignore the distractions of traffic and be able to enjoy the walk.

Alexia knows a few basic commands but is not yet housebroken. She was originally reluctant to come into the house at all, but is learning to follow the other dogs when they enter. Pillows seem to be her weakness, as she found they are quite comfortable. This girl also enjoys having her ears scratched and her belly rubbed. She will try to crawl into your lap if you sit on the floor with her. A little unsure about cars, so it takes some coaxing her to get into a car. Crates are no problem and she is sleeping through the night in her crate.

Continued socialization and training are a must for this beautiful dog.
