Maui

Maui was pulled from a local shelter as a stray so nothing is known of her past. If she could be described in three words they would be loving, loyal, and companion. She was adopted about 2 years ago, but the family has a new baby and realize they cannot provide the structure Maui needs so she's back with us and is about 3.5 years old.

It was a quick introduction to the large breed family of pups (2 male / 1 female) and a 6 month old Catahoula puppy in her foster home, but no small dogs for Maui. She loves going on car rides and does not get sick on the winding roads. Maui loves going on walks and is gentle on leash around the neighborhood. She has been ignoring the occasional deer, the horses, goats, and chickens on the walking route.

This girl absolutely loves people. Although she does enjoy a good morning run around the back yard, she would rather be keeping her human company. She loves treats and takes them with a gentle mouth. This girl is happy to sleep quietly in a crate at night or curled up on a dog bed in your bedroom. She is potty trained, uses a dog door, and can be left inside the house for 4-6 hours at a time without accident of having things chewed up.

Maui can sometimes grumble when other dogs receive attention but corrects easily without incident. We are working with her on waiting her turn, while making sure she gets her attention too. She is quick to correct and is very submissive.
