Versace

Versace is a very large and unique-looking male, around 5 years old, in a long, black and tan coat. He was an unclaimed stray from Modesto, so we know nothing of his background. He was apparently kept in very cramped and poor conditions; his long, flowing coat was so matted and filthy it had to be shaved off. Versace has some past injuries to his left hip and his right stifle and has very little muscle tone in his rear end. He doesn't let it slow him down much and never complains!

This big boy is housebroken and very well-mannered. He likes being in the house and loves to go for rides in the car, and he's safe to leave loose in either one. He can be mouthy when he gets excited, so he needs a home with adult-sized people. He can be very pushy when he's seeking attention for pets and rubs, otherwise he's very well behaved.

Versace is good with other dogs, but he doesn't tolerate being stepped on, understandably. He seems to be okay with livestock and comes when he's called, and he does well in a ranch environment although he would never be happy living outside. He hasn't shown any interest in toys or balls and he's pretty happy just to hang with his people, inside or out. Unknown how he is with cats.

Versace is a Special Needs dog. Because of the injuries to his rear legs, he'll need NSAIDS, anti-inflammatories and supplements. We're not sure at this point if surgery will help him or not.

Versace is located in the Oakdale area.
