Mongo

Mongo is an easy-going, 2-3 year old German Shepherd mix. He and another dog were surrendered by their owners when they moved overseas and couldn't take them along. He's a good sized boy at about 80 pounds with a plush coat and one floppy ear. Mongo has low-to-moderate energy and does well with a leash walk and some light play in the back yard. There have been no issues with the resident male or female dogs. Mongo is quite a licker. Give him a chance, and he will lick your hands and face clean.

Mongo already had good house manners when he came into our program. He is calm in the house, good about staying off furniture and also learned to not jump on people. He walks well in a heel position and is learning basic obedience. His recall still needs work, and he is quite good at sneaking out an open door or gate. Overall, Mongo is an easy dog and will make a good family pet with some basic obedience training.
