Kalani

Kalani is approximately a 2 year old adorable female. At about 50 lbs, she is a petite little girl. She is a combination of black and tan and brindle. Looks like she could possibly be a GSD/Dutch shepherd mix, although we are not certain. Kalani is a sweet girl who has gotten along with all of the other large dogs in her foster home. She loves to play and to be chased by the big boys. If you need a bug catcher Kalani is your gal. She loves to chase bugs and butterflies, leaping through the air to catch them. She also seems to have some prey drive and some interest in all of the animals we pass on our walks, but is easily corrected from staring them down.

Kalani travels well in the car. She likes to ride shotgun, and will curl up in the front passenger seat next to you if allowed. She is learning to settle into a crate at night, currently she whines a little bit, then when she realizes she is not going to get her way she will settle in for the night.

Kalani has had some leash training. She heals very nicely making good eye contact to ensure she is following direction. She knows sit and down, and is pretty good with a short stay. Kalani loves to splash around in water. She loves to romp in the shallow stream with the boys. It is unknown if she is a true swimmer.

Kalani is still a little unsure about meeting new people, particularly men. It takes her a few minutes to warm up, but once she does, you will have a friend for life. Kalani is looking for a home that will continue to work on her socialization and obedience, and perhaps even channel her energy and focus into a job for her.
