Gideon is a cute and striking male German Shepherd mix around 3 years old, and around 70 pounds. He has a beautiful sable coat, and one goofy ear with a floppy tip. Gideon was returned to us because he won't stop challenging the elderly resident male German Shepherd Dog in the home.
This is a very active and affectionate boy who loves his humans and is great with people, but may be a bit much for small children. He has a fairly high energy level and loves to spend most of his time following you around the house or yard. In his previous home, Gideon lived successfully with two confident female dogs, and a couple of cats, but should probably be an only dog.
Gideon is housebroken and well-mannered in the house. He will sleep in a crate, but prefers to sleep on the floor right next to the bed of his humans. He has had a considerable amount of obedience training and knows Heel, Sit, Stay, Down, Come, Lets Go, and Leave It. He knows that a leash means a walk or run, and loves to go on outings. While fairly well-trained, he pulls a bit at first but then settles down. He will work for food and will do anything for a treat. He is also quite the talker once he gets excited!
Gideon is looking for an active, experienced home. He is NOT a dog-park dog, he likes to challenge strange dogs, particularly males, and will wait until an opportune moment to do so. He will need a very experienced owner who can keep him out of trouble.
