RAINBOW BRIDGE - REST IN PEACE

12-15-08. Beautiful and elegant Ellie went in for her spay surgery on Friday, but for some unknown reason she wouldn't stop hemorrhaging. She had a pre-surgery blood panel that was normal and there was no indication of any problems. She received two transfusions, but continued to bleed. Our vet went back in and checked to make sure everything had been done right and couldn't find any reason for the bleeding. This morning she had a seizure, and continued to decline. We let her go this afternoon.

Please join us in offering condolences to Ellie's foster-mom. She and her daughter had just decided to add Ellie to their family permanently. They gave her much love and great care, no dog could have asked for a better home. Ellie will be missed.

Elegant's bio

Elegant won't be available until she gets over her kennel cough and can be spayed.

Ellie is a beautiful, very large, very sweet mature girl around 5 years old who just loves to be in the house. She's extra-large for a female, close to 90 pounds and she's not overweight. She was an unclaimed stray so nothing is known of her background, but she was clearly a well-cared for housepet.

Ellie has excellent house manners and is very well-behaved, although she needs a little brush up on walking on leash without pulling. While she's tolerant of other dogs, she doesn't particularly care if she lives with them; she would probably prefer to be the only House Princess.

Unknown how she is with cats.

If you are interested in this House Princess, please contact us about signing up to foster her until she's ready to adopt!
