Dexter

Dexter is a cute, moderately active young GSD/Husky mix, around 12-18 months old, dressed in a jaunty sable coat. He was an unclaimed stray from Oakdale, so we we know nothing of his background.

This young man appears to have been an outside only dog, he doesn't have much in the way of house manners yet. He's a a moderate energy boy and is settling in fairly well, however he can be very determined at times. He learns quickly but still wants to push the boundaries.

Since Dexter entered the rescue he has grown quite a bit. Dexter has a very cute look with the personality to match. He has moderate energy level , and knows basic obedience. He loves to go for rides in vehicles, loves to run next to a bike. He will alarm bark appropriately when strangers appoach his property. He gets along well with most other dogs, may take exception to dominant males. He is crate trained however he will protest for a bit when confined but settles down. Dexter will benefit from a moderately active home where he is incorporated as part of the family.

Dexter needs a home with an experienced and decisive owner who knows how to train and continue to socialize a determined young male. He would also like another nice young dog to play with.

Unknown how he is with cats or other critters.

Adoption Fee on this dog is $300.
We require a home visit by one of our volunteers.
We adopt to the North Bay, Greater Sacramento area, Central Valley down to Merced, and parts of the East Bay, resources permitting. Regrettably, we are unable to return phone calls from outside those areas.
