Dana
Dana was one of a litter of puppies born on 9/22/11 to Mabel, a German Shepherd who came into our program pregnant. Although we don't know who their sire was, they appear to be purebred German Shepherds.
Dana is a cute female puppy with one ear that still flops over on the tip. She is the typical puppy, unsure of new things and wanting to learn about everything with her mouth. She knows to go to the door to go potty, but won't come get you or hold it for long yet. She sleeps quietly in a crate at night. She doesn't have much prey drive, and slept with the cats in her first foster home.
She's learning about walking on leash, and sitting on command. She loves to bite feet with her little sharp puppy teeth, but will relinquish your foot to take a toy. She can be quite crazy when playing with other dogs, but listens when they tell her to stop. She has growled and snapped at other dogs to protect her food and person, but took correction easily and usually shares now.
She is the typical puppy, full of energy one minute and snoring at your feet the next. Since she is a German Shepherd, she'll need daily exposure to new things so she doesn't become shy or fearful. She'll also need interaction and exercise thoughout the day, and frequent quiet-times where she can learn how to entertain herself and be alone.
She's a great little puppy just waiting for someone to work with her and help her become a great dog.
