Chula

Chula is a very sweet black and tan female, around 3-4 years old and on the smaller side, just a solid 62 pounds. She was given up by her owners because she kept getting out and ending up at Oakdale Shelter.

This cute girl is pretty undemanding and is happy just to hang out. She's housebroken, and fairly well-mannered in the house. She will occasionally try to steal leftover food containers if they are foolishly left sitting out and nobody is around, but she doesn't like to get scolded so she's learning it's best to leave such things alone. She absolutely LOVES lying and rolling in the grass, which makes it pretty hard to get a picture of her standing up when there's grass under her feet.

Chula is very affectionate, and thinks that any time dogs are getting petted, she needs to be at the front of the line so she'll push her way in. She gets along very well with other dogs so far, and will play with other playful dogs but doesn't like to play too rough. She's learning to Sit and Wait for her dinner, and is learning to walk politely on leash. She's happy to nap in an open crate, sleeps loose in the house at night, and travels well in a vehicle, either in a crate or loose. She hasn't quite mastered the art of jumping into a tall vehicle yet, but she'll scramble in with a little help. Chula needs a little more work learning not to be mouthy with people when playing, so she needs a home without little children, but otherwise she's very sweet to people of all ages and sizes.

Chula hasn't tried to get out once while in her foster home. She has several other dog buddies to hang out with and a person who is home most of the time, and that keeps her very happy. She did go visit the neighbors once when her leash was accidentally dropped, but she came right up when she was reclaimed. Chula is not good with cats. Unknown how she is with livestock.

NO CATS, SMALL CRITTERS or SMALL CHILDREN.
