BorisBoris Head

Boris is a nice-size black and tan male approximately 3 years old with low to moderate energy. He came out of a Sacramento area shelter as a stray, so nothing is known of his background. He is a very sweet and affectionate boy.

It appears Boris has never been inside a house, as everything was new to him like TV's and other normal sounds from a house. He initially was very reluctant to go into a crate, but after several days of becoming familiar with his surroundings, he now goes into the crate without a fuss. He is learning basic commands and already walks nicely on a leash. If another dog reacts toward him on leash, he can become reactive in response. It is unlikely Boris is housebroken, but he is kept under close supervision in his foster home and has had no accidents. He also was reluctant to get into a car, but with repeated exposure to fun locations, he should be able to get into a car willingly.

Boris is living with another older male dog and appears he wants to play. The other dog doesn't really want to play so Boris is being given toys and other distractions. Even toys seem new to Boris. He tried to bury one of the toys he really liked.

There has been little exposure to children to know whether Boris would be good with them. Cats and small critters are also an unknown. Obedience training and lots of continued socialization will go a long way with Boris. He seems to be a fast learner.
