Beate (Bea)Beate Head

SENIOR

Beate vom Aspen Canyon (pronounced be-ah-tuh - we call her Bea) is a lovely black and red girl who is 9 1/2 years old and weights about 75 lbs. Bea was returned to rescue due to an unforeseen change in family circumstances. Originally adopted out in 2010; in her previous home she was living with kids, a small dog, and a male German Shepherd.

Unfortunately, Bea has experienced neglect over the last few years, and her previous owner informed us that she was primarily an outside dog and was sleeping in a crate in the garage. She came into rescue with an ear infection, stiffness in her backend, and thinning or missing hair on her legs, tummy, back end and tail. Rescue is providing the necessary medical care to clear up these issues, and restore her health.

Bea is a beauty who is friendly, gentle, calm and has a great temperament. She recently went to a nursing facility to visit her foster dad's mom, and was not scared, didn't flinch with all the hustle and bustle of wheel chairs, carts, nursing staff, etc., and really seemed to enjoy the outing and attention.

She is currently living in a foster home with 3 other GSDs and 2 medium sized dogs, with a mixture of male and female, and energy levels. Bea is housebroken, crate trained, knows how to use the doggy door, has great house manners, and roams the house freely with the resident dogs. She enjoys riding in the car, and loves looking out the front window keeping an eye on the road ahead. She knows basic commands, and is now sitting and waiting for her meals, but needs a little work when it comes to having a dinner plate in the vicinity of her nose. She takes treats with soft and gentle mouth, and sits and allows her foster dad to give her medicines, without fuss.

Bea's loves to play ball - her original bio stated, "This beautiful girl moves with fluid grace and impressive power," and you can still see that grace and power even though she is now a senior.

She would love a home that would cherish her, take her for a couple of walks a day and allow her to be at your side, and in return she will be a devoted and loving companion.

Interesting fact: We have Bea's AKC papers; her sire is Blitzkrieg vom Nadelhaus, and her dam is Annaleia vom Hognadottir. You can find her in the Pedigree Database.

NO cats, chickens, livestock, or small furry critters for this girl.

This is a Level 2 Dog
