BaxterBaxter Head

Baxter is an approximately 10-12 month old adorable black and tan male weighing 75 lbs. He was hanging around on a rural property outside of Woodland for about a month prior to coming to the shelter. The people who were feeding him said he was friendly, ignored the chickens and cats on the property, and got along with a neighbor's dog who sometimes came to visit.

Baxter is a sweet boy, although it takes him a minute to warm up to new people. A couple pieces of cheese later, he will be grinning and wagging his tail. He is easy to leash. He pulls some when on leash and seems to be unfamiliar with having a leash on, occasionally bucking when hitting the end of the leash.

In the yard, Baxter will occasionally jump up to say hi and bounds around playfully. He hasn't had any training but he's a smart boy who will learn quickly with structure and practice. Being inside the house seems new to Baxter, but he is quickly learning the ropes.

Baxter gets along with the other large male and female dogs in his foster home, he can be a little reactive in a crate or kennel, but has been fine outside a confined area.

Baxter is new to his foster home, more will be written when we get to know him better.
