Tahoe

Tahoe is a 6-7-year-old tall, male sable GSD. He was pulled from the shelter so nothing is known of his background. His personality is sweet, affectionate, and mellow. He likes to rest his chin on his foster mom's shoulder and stares very adoringly at her until she pets him. He is currently living with a cat, 3 male GSD's and a pushy female GSD in his foster home. Tahoe doesn't engage much or play with the resident dogs, but he coexists nicely. He has shown some interest in the resident dog-savvy cat, but with a 'leave it' command he leaves the cat alone. It is not known how Tahoe would be with small children.

He did well in the crate while recovering from neuter surgery and sleeps quietly on a dog bed in his foster mom's room. He's has good house manners and is learning how nice it is to be able to go in and out as he pleases with a doggy door. He was most likely a backyard dog as he spends a lot of time lounging back there but is learning quickly to enjoy life inside as well. Tahoe was very mellow during a bath and enjoyed the attention. We are working on leash manners as he pulls a bit. He's gained a few pounds in his foster home, but could probably stand to gain a few more. Tahoe will make a great, low-key companion. All he wants is some love and a good meal and he's a happy guy.
