HollyHolly Head

Holly is an adorable Black and Tan female, about 8 months old and weighs 65 lbs. She was a stray from a local shelter, so we have no history of her past.

Holly has been great with all people she's met including an 8 year old child. She's in a foster home with an adult large male German Shepherd, a mature female German Shepherd and foster boy Huck who is still available for adoption. She and Huck love to play, chase each other and share toys. If left too long unsupervised, they do tend to tear up fabric items. So far, they've grabbed a small decorative pillow from a bed, put holes in dog beds, and tried to take other things like socks, couch cushions or whatever is convenient. Holly has learned to sit and wait when fed and walks great on a leash. She is housebroken and knows how to use a dog door but doesn't like being crated. Not wanting to be left out of activities, Holly will whine loudly if left outside alone. She meets new dogs easily and will try to get them to play. She's seen the senior cat who spends her day laying on a bed in a back room and Holly shows curiosity but no prey drive toward her.

This girl wants to be near her people, but can become a tripping hazard as she doesn't seem to know the 'move' command. Using a squirt bottle to get her attention has worked wonders with the 'leave it' command, however. With formal obedience training and lots of toys and nylabones to keep Holly occupied, she will become a great family dog. A home with another playful dog is preferred.

Cats and small critters unknown.

This is a Level 2 Dog.
