Joel is a sweet one year-old black and tan male, weighing approximately 75 pounds. He is a stray from a local animal shelter so nothing is known of his past. He bonds quickly with his human and has nice house manners. He knows some basic commands, including the "go potty" command and is crate trained. He heals nicely on walks, only needing soft corrections when critters are near. He corrects easily since he wants to please his human. He is very affectionate and enjoys being pet and getting attention. He likes to follow his human around and lay at your feet.
As long as he can nibble on treats in your hand as a distraction, he allows you to cut his nails. He much prefers indoor showers as opposed to the outdoor water hose. He has medium energy and is food motivated. He currently sleeps in the same room as his foster and is quiet through the night.
Joel is sensitive and can become startled. He is anxious when trucks are going by while out on a walk. He needs to experience new places and things to work on building his confidence. He is currently living in a foster home with a large female German Shepherd, learning to play, and not to jump on people. No small children.
Regular exercise, socialization and training will go a long way for this nice young boy.
Cats and small critters unknown.
This is a Level 2 Dog.
