AlecAlec Head

Alec is an adorable, black and tan 4-5 year old male German Shepherd, weighing 60 pounds. He was a stray from a local shelter so nothing is known of his past. Alec came to us very skinny and with a lot of fur missing on his tail and back end. The shelter veterinarian said he is either allergic to fleas or he has a food allergy. He is on specific food now for dogs with food allergies to define the issue. In a few months when all his fur comes in he will be looking quite dapper.

He bonds fast with his human and greets people nicely. He knows some basic commands and is house trained, but he does like to sneak some counter surfing in. He also likes car rides and squeaky balls. He heals nicely on walks, only needing corrections when critters are near. He is loving and affectionate and likes his ears and tummy rubbed. He is an absolute doll. He frequently puts his head on your lap to spend quality time with you. Alec is crate trained. If you put a nice soft blanket in the crate he will go in there naturally on his own (when the door is left open).

He has medium energy and is food motivated. So far he isn't an alarm barker. He sleeps in the same room as his foster mom and is very quiet all night. He is currently living in a foster home with a large female German Shepherd.

Obedience training is recommended so he learns all his basic commands and not to jump on people.

Cats and small critters unknown.

This is a Level 2 Dog.
