TreatTreat Head

Treat is a very large black and tan female pup born on 7/3/19. She was surrendered with her sister Trick when the prior owner was unable to find adopters for the last of a litter of puppies. She had been totally an outdoor dog in her original home, so her current foster is extra cautious to not give her free run of the house and takes her out often for potty breaks and is working on house manners. From the size of her feet and growth plates, Treat looks like she'll be a big girl. She already weighs close to 50 lbs. Her one ear is trying to stand, but tends to flop on top of her head. The other ear is likely to follow soon. Because she's still growing, Treat takes regular deep naps.

Treat is a typical puppy who hasn't had any structure. She loves people, but currently jumps up and is very mouthy. For this reason she shouldn't go to a home with small children. She is easy with the other German Shepherds in the home, but the female shepherd will correct her if Treat pesters her too much. Having lots of chew toys to distract her helps redirect her biting. She is learning to sit and wait for her food. When trying to put a leash on her or just sitting with her, she'll roll over for a belly rub. Treat is not a fan of the crate, but once in, she settles nicely and sleeps quietly through the night.

Treat is very curious and sticks her nose into everything, especially if you are out working in the yard. She doesn't seem to fear much of anything either. She is like a toddler at the moment and if you're not watching her, she'll chew on a shoe, dog bed, couch, cords or whatever else catches her eye. Patience, time, exercise and training will be required of her owner.

Cats and small critters unknown.

This is a Level 2 Dog.
