Tundra is Missing - 11/4/11

From Tundra's foster-dad, Carl:

Joy at Tundra finding a very gentle, caring, deeply committed Foster-To-Adopt home has been quashed by Tundra's escape. She crashed the gate Friday night as her new mom was entering bringing in groceries. She wouldn't come back when called; they pursued her but were unable to keep up with her when she disappeared into inaccessible, wooded hilly areas criss-crossed with horse fence, and locked gates on the few roads.

She disappeared in Penryn, immediately adjacent to Loomis, from the vicinity of Swetzer Road and Colwell. A beautiful smaller sable, she was wearing a pink collar as of her escape, with both a GCGSR tag, and a light blue microchip registry tag. She has a blue or green small tattoo in one ear which I was never able to read, and is spayed. Tundra is cautious, gentle, and does not bite.

We've gotten no calls on the GCGSR 800 number, contacts from her microchip registry, or response to ads. Sarah, her FTA mom, has placed numerous picture posters at veterinarians' offices, pet food stores, the fire department, coffee shops etc., placed ads including Craig's list, spent hours searching and notifying neighbors, and has placed notices/posters at and is checking and rechecking pounds and shelters in the vicinity.

If anyone hears or sees anything relevant, please contact us as soon as possible.

You can call our toll-free number which is the same number on her ID tag:
877-268-0255, or email us at info@gcgsr.org.

Sarah's phone numbers are home (916) 652-5294; cell: (916) 759-4224.

Or email carlsccp@surewest.net or serenitybysarah@yahoo.com.

Thank you, and please keep your fingers crossed. Tundra had really blossomed and was well on her way to happy, if cautious, dogness.

Bio:

Tundra is a 12-18 month old, gorgeous sable female who was an unclaimed stray out of the Grass Valley area. This compact, medium sized girl has a beautiful plush coat. While there is no information on her background, she appears to have been an outdoor only dog.

Tundra is timid around people and is learning that an extended hand can mean kindness and pets. She will need a kind, patient home where she can be socialized regularly to become a happy, well-adjusted girl. Tundra seems to have minimal interest in toys or balls. While she has no formal training, Tundra is almost housebroken, walks nicely on leash, and rides nicely in the car. She has moderate energy and while she seems to enjoy the company of other dogs, she does not want to be jumped on or played with roughly.

Tundra has only mild interest in the cat at her foster home, so could possibly live with one with careful supervision.
