TerryTerry Head

Terry is a large handsome 4-5 year old male. He has a nice thick black coat, and weighs in at about 80 lbs. Terry was an unclaimed stray out of a local animal shelter so nothing is known about his background. Terry was likely an outdoor only dog, as he is still a little nervous in the house, but is learning new things every day like going up and down stairs, what a hairdryer is, and is taking it all in like a champ.

Terry gets along with all of the large male and female dogs in his foster home. While he likes to gallop around the yard and explore, he doesn't really want to play with the other dogs. He seems to like their company and doesn't want any trouble, but doesn't seem to engage in any of the doggie games. Terry likes water, and will jump in and out of a shallow stream when out on walks. It is unknown if he would swim in deeper water.

Terry seems to know sit and down, but that is about it for commands. He is learning house manners, how to settle in, and how to walk on a leash without tripping you up. He rides in the car with only a little whining, and sleeps quietly in his crate at night. While Terry has not had an accident in the house, it is unknown if he is fully housebroken yet. Terry is very amenable to learning, and would like a home where someone with some patience will continue his training and socialization. He would likely be fine as an only dog, or a dog companion that only wants to hang out, but doesn't want to rough and tumble with him.
