Smokey

Smokey is a handsome, 5-6 year old male who weighs in at 104 lbs. He is almost all black with a smattering of brown on his feet. He came to rescue from a local area shelter so little is known of his background.

For the most part, Smokey is a big, mellow boy. He loves toys of all kinds and has some playful moments, but he is most content hanging out near his human. He is affectionate and will happily accept belly rubs any chance he can!

Smokey has nice house manners (he is unattended in the house while his foster mom is at work), is housebroken, and walks well on a leash. He will sleep quietly in his crate, but can also does well on a dog bed next to his human. He is living in a foster home with 2 other male German Shepherds and one female. He gets along with the other dogs, but he can be very competitive when it comes to toys and attention from his people and he will sometimes get a bit snappy with the dogs. He would love another dog pal, but would probably be happiest with another mellow dog who knows and accepts his boundaries. He can be fun and playful, but does not like it when another dog is pushy or gets in his face.

He has not been around small dogs or children in his foster home, but he has had come limited exposure to the resident cats and has so far ignored them.
