SansaSansa Head

Sansa is a petite, approximately one year old black and light tan female, who is recovering from mange. Her current weight is about 53 lbs, but she can stand to gain a few pounds. She came out of a Sacramento area shelter as a stray, so nothing is known of her background. She appears to have had a litter of puppies in her short lifetime. Currently on medication for mange and frequent medicated baths will help her to rid the yeast on her skin. Once her skin heals better, she will need to be spayed and when completely healed this girl will be striking.

Sansa is learning house manners and does well with the use of a doggy door to prevent accidents inside. She loves being in a crate and will self-crate herself. She is living with two large male German Shepherds and a young female German Shepherd and does well, although is not interested in playing with them at this point. Her foster home has cats and Sansa has seen them from her crate with no reaction, but has not had an opportunity for up close contact.

While in the shelter, Sansa was very nervous and afraid. She now loves human attention as long as the initial meeting is done slowly. Sansa is learning that being left without the human around is okay. She walks fairly well on a leash and is also learning the leave it and sit command, but will need a home willing to commit to further obedience training, exercise and socialization for her.
