RiverRiver Head

River is a 4 yo handsome, red and black neutered male who weighs approximately 70 lbs. He was found as a stray, so we are unable to share his life story with you. River will initially back away from unfamiliar people and noises.

He is slowly learning that humans are here to help him enjoy the world as he rapidly adapts to the intimate home environment. He shares his foster home with Whistler (see Available Male Dogs) with whom he finds comfort and direction. With Whistler nearby, River settles in the house much easier and quicker.

River is polite, gentle, and loves human affection. If given a choice, River will shadow his person over engaging with other dogs. He appears to get along with other dogs, both large and small, yet guidance is necessary to prevent pack intimidation toward him. In his current foster home, he plays with Whistler, but has shown no interest in dog toys. He sleeps calmly in a crate, appears house broken, and is learning to use a dog door. He is eager to go on his daily walks and is learning that car rides are fun!

Due to River's current state of uncertainty, he will do best in a home with another confident, but not pushy dog. He will also benefit from one-on-one obedience training, which will build his confidence and trust with his human.

Cats & small critters unknown.

This is a Level 2 Dog
