Jenny
Jenny is a pretty, mid-sized, black and tan girl around 2 1/2 years old and about 55 pounds but could ideally gain at least another 5+ pounds. She was given up by her owners to a San Francisco shelter because she would bark when left outside 24/7 in the backyard so the landlord would not allow them to keep her.
She rarely barks now that she's allowed inside the house. She is housebroken and has good leash manners, and she loves going for walks. She likes to quitely sit on her favorite cushion and relax. She is still leery of entering into any building, but once inside she does okay. She isn't quite comfortable living inside yet, but is gradually adjusting.
Outside, she is friendly with people. When she first sees other dogs approaching, she will bark and tug at her leash, but when she meets them, she just wants to socialize. She takes leash correction well. In a fenced enclosure, and off-leash, she played well with another male dog. She isn't interested in playing ball or even treats at this point, and mostly just wants attention and petting from those around her.
Jenny needs a home with patient and encouraging owners, and an easy-going male dog to keep her company and to help her overcome her shyness at being an inside dog. She would probably do better with respectful older children who understand patience and calmness.
She has strong prey-drive, so no cats or other small animals.
NO CATS or SMALL FURRY CRITTERS!
This is a Level 2 Dog
