Jayko is a big, handsome, red & black 6-7 year old male who was given up to the pound by his owners when they had to move. Jake has the long, lean, American-bred body type and is still a little thin at 80 pounds. He has a very sweet and affectionate disposition and clearly has been a well-loved house-dog all his life.
Jake is housebroken and has impeccable house manners. He walks well on a leash, knows Sit, Down and Wait, and tries very hard to please. He's crate-trained and low energy, and wants nothing more than to have a comfy dogbed in the house near his person and to go for rides in the car. Jake is very attached to his person, and does not want to spend time alone, so will need a home with someone there most of the time. He can get just the tiniest bit mouthy and will jump up just a little when he's really excited, otherwise he's a low energy, undemanding companion.
Jake tolerates other large dogs as long as they stay out of his face, but he would rather be an only dog. He doesn't want to interact with other dogs and he doesn't like small dogs. He's okay outside for short periods, he doesn't dig, chew or try to escape. He may be okay left inside crated, and would probably do fine with inside-outside access through a dog door.
No small dogs, probably no cats.
