HemiHemi Head

Hemi is a 12-18 month old Black and Tan male weighing approximately 80 pounds. He was an unclaimed stray from a Modesto shelter so nothing is known of his background. He is quite submissive when encountering a new dog or experience but with time and encouragement he will come around.

Hemi is a sweet boy who just wants love and attention from his humans. He took some time to get used to the female Shepherd in the house but now they play well together. He didn't appear to be housebroken when he first came out of the shelter but with regular reminders he has been doing great with no accidents inside. He does need you to accompany him outside, but as long as you go out too he will take care of business. He is currently learning basic commands and learning to walk on a leash. He sleeps in a crate at night; he does cry a little at first, but quiets down pretty quickly especially if he is in the same room as you.

He shows his youth by getting mouthy when excited and picking up anything he can get his mouth on, so he should not go to a home with small children. It is unknown how he is with small dogs, cats, and children. Hemi will do best in a home with a confident dog to be his companion. He will need a family that can give him regular attention and continue his training and socialization.

Hemi must go to a home with a confident dog to be his companion.

This is a Level 3 Dog. Please be sure you understand what a dog of this Level requires.
