Bear is a very sweet boy, just over a year old and on the smaller side for a male German Shepherd. He has a gorgeous solid black coat with a charming white spot in the middle of his chest.
Bear's owner had to give him up when she was moving. He seemed a little timid at first, but really came out of his shell when he found out there were a lot of people who would pay attention to him and feed him tasty treats at Adoption Day! He loves attention, and can get a litte fussy if he's left by himself and everyone is paying attention to all the other dogs.
Bear seems to be good with other dogs, lived with another smaller dog, and is relaxed and friendly when meeting other friendly dogs. Bear is housebroken and well-mannered. He is fairly easy to handle, walks pretty well on leash, knows Sit, goes into his crate well and rides fairly quietly in a vehicle.
He currently has pano (panosteitis), an inflammation of the long bones in the legs. Pano is a fairly common condition for young dogs of large breeds, and generally clears up as they mature. Restricted activity and anti-inflammatory meds help ease the pain during bouts of pano.
